Move your blog to a self hosted Wordpress

Why move out of wordpress.com ?

Wordpress.com is a great service, but

A – If you want to do anything commercial with your blog you need to move out.

B – The range of add functionality you can add to a self hosting blog is mind blowing, and it’s mostly free, check out the plugin repository with over 8,000 third party addons.

C – You can display pretty much any content you like ( well, as long as you don’t break the law).

How to do that ?

A – do it your self – checkout this fine How To article at problogger.com and the moving instruction at the wordpress.com support.

B – Let me do it for you, I’ll do it for 20$ (Will your blog be secure ?).

Help you move?

I’ll need your blog export file (to produce the file go to Tools->Export ), please upload and sent it using this form, make sure you enter a valid email:

Any additional cost?

Yes, once your self hosted blog is up and running you need to pay for the hosting,  it’s 9.75$/mo with a Paypal subscription. You will be able to cancel your subscription at any time, in case you will want to move.

Your domain name:

If your blog is under a wordpress.com subdomain e.g. your-name.wordpress.com You would also want a domain name,  you can buy a domain name at any of these registrars, once you have your domain name contact me to proceed.

If you prefer, I can also buy the domain for you,  in order to protect your property rights to the domain,  I’ll open a customer sub account where you can manage your domain at name.com.

If you already have a domain name mapped to your Wordpress blog,  just wait for my confirmation that a copy of the blog was migrated successfully and then change the domain name servers to the following:

NS1.MY-WP-CMS.COM

NS2.MY-WP-CMS.COM

Don’t hesitate to contact me for more information or clarification.
